After my second pitch to Turner Duckworth, I have received some more feedback which I can act on to try and make my Wimpy brand the one that gets chosen. I also received more thoughts from tutors which I will discuss below.

I started off the week by sending my tutor, Emma, some of my brand exploration following a task set by Martin to use brand assets and explore the visual language. I created a real range of designs, but thought that Emma would help me choose some of them to take further. She told me the way I could start to learn which path I wanted to go down was by using the assets on parts of my rebrand. I started with the bus. I explored using the triangular shapes and shapes from the Union Jack to create this bold and exciting graphic. I used various blending options to create a realistic look. I also explored the use of characters. I wanted more than just the Burger Person. I created ‘Chip Guy’ and ‘Beer Boys’ as well as creating more characters for the different range of burgers. This created a bold and eye-catching design.

I used this as well as another page of brand assets such as posters, the logo and social media posts to get a real feel to my design, showcasing this off to Turner Duckworth.

The feedback I was given was:

  • Act more upon my Collage style and use it to amplify my message behind the Rebrand.

I feel I need to use more of the collage style on other graphic elements, such as packaging for food, posters and Social media posts. This will keep the brand together more. I need to use my message and language more within these posts.

  • The guys at TD could clearly see that my rebrand was celebrating British Food and they loved my style. They wanted my assets to suggest more purpose, making my message clearer.

I will start making my message/s clearer. These will be more relevant on posters, social media ect. I also feel that I need to use my visuals to represent this theme. TD suggested the spatula idea which they used for Burger King so this is something that I will definitely look at.

Overall, I feel that I am definitely on the right track, but in this last two weeks I must work on my idea to really get it perfect and make my new Wimpy Rebrand clear and obvious as well as make the it clear what the I am trying to achieve within the rebrand.
